GDPR Assist - Privacy Policy

Who are we?

GDPR Assist is the trading name of my business (Paul Strout t/a GDPR Assist). Our postal address is 17 Finchley Close, Bury, BL8 2EJ. (ICO Registration #ZA513621).  This privacy policy relates to our website ( and also covers our offline operations.  

Basis for processing:

We do not collect any personal data directly from our website. All contact with the business is via email and telephone. We will maintain records of customer contact which falls under the lawful basis of legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(f)) and potentially under the lawful basis of being necessary for the performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6(b)).

Purpose of processing:

Personal data is processed entirely for the legitimate interest of maintaining contact between us and you (our customer, or potential customer) in order to deliver our service and fulfil any contracts which exist between us.

We process no special category data within the meaning of GDPR

No, we do not routinely share any personal data, and would only do so under a legitimate request from a law enforcement agency

We will retain personal data for a period of 7 years from last contact. If you would like us to delete your data sooner then please contact us by emailing and we will do so.

Cookies - How do we use cookies on our websites?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer when you access a website. These allow websites to do several important things, including remember what’s in your shopping basket and which pages you have visited.

Our website is exclusively an informational site and collects no personal data,  nor is it used as an online store. We have selected the option in our website builder to prevent the placing of tracking cookies on your browser.

We do not serve up advertisements or knowingly take part in any scheme that would allow your online behaviour to be tracked for the purposes of identity discovery. 

What happens when I follow links to other sites?

If you follow links to other sites from our website your data will be subject to the privacy policies of those sites. You should refer to these policies before providing your data.

Where do we process data?

We process data in the UK at the above business address. We do utilise cloud computing applications such as Microsoft Office 365 which potentially means that data may be stored outside of the UK. 

We apply UK data protection law and the GDPR conditions to our processing.

Making a complaint

You can contact us at the above address, alternatively the supervisory authority in the UK for data protection matters is the Information Commissioner (ICO). If you think your data protection rights have been breached in any way by us, you are able to make a complaint to the ICO. The ICO Helpline number is 0303 123 1113.
